Calling all beer lovers!
Over 60 local and regional microbrewers will soon gather in Kennett Square this coming Sat., Oct. 8 from 2 – 6 pm to celebrate a common passion – beer, and lots of it!
The Kennett Brewfest, held for the fourteenth year, is one of the lead fundraising events for the Historic Kennett Square non-profit and it is also certainly one of the state’s best beer fests! Beer geeks flock to this South Broad Street event yearly, flooding the spacious scene in hopes to tackle each and every sample from participating breweries–many of which are pouring their flagship beers.
Curious what breweries will be at hand? Everyone from Bavarian Barbarian Brewing Company, Boxcar Brewing Co., Cigar City Brewing, Dogfish Head Brewery, McKenzie’s Brewhouse, Wild Onion Brewery and Victory Brewing Co. will be on-site, plus many more. Click here for the full lineup.
Along with the great-tasting beer there will be outstanding jazz/fusion music provided by The Carl Filipiak Group and local favorites, Sin City Band.
Ticket-holders are able to come and go throughout the festival, and free shuttles uptown will be available all day. The shuttle will pick up and drop off at the municipal garage accessible from North Union Street (Route 82) on East Linden Street. Designated driver tickets are $10. This event is rain or shine, so dress accordingly. Everyone must present their IDs at the door, and no one under 21, or pets, are allowed. More info at kennettbrewfest.com.
However, do note: All tickets to this year’s beer fest are sold-out. But, for one lucky local, we’re giving away a pair of complimentary tickets!
Want to win?
Click HERE and “like” Kennett Square Dish on Facebook. Then, swing back to this post and leave a comment stating your favorite local beer and why you NEED these brewfest tickets. You have until Thurs., Oct. 6 at 8 pm to enter. One winner will be chosen shortly after and announced on this post. May the best beer lover win!
UPDATE:
A BIG “thank you” to all of you who entered our ticket giveaway for the annual Kennett Brewfest! Love hearing all about your beer love! Congrats to Amy T., you’re our winner. Enjoy!

I absolutely love Lancaster Brewing Company! The variety pack has something for everyone…a nice strawberry wheat for something light and refreshing, a milk stout for sipping, or a nice IPA Hop Hog. You can’t go wrong
And of course we NEED these tickets since we live only a few blocks away and would be so sad if we saw everyone else enjoying one of the best events in Kennett.
My favorite right now is Boxcar Brewing Co. India Pale Ale. It has a nice golden color and a hint of citrus. It is smooth on the pallet and goes well with spicy foods which are my favorite. A great beer!
I first want to say thank you for the chance to win tickets
. I need these tickets cause it slipped my mind ordering these and i dont have a happy boyfriend. my favorite is anything from McKenzie’s Brewhouse
Thank you for offering these tickets! My family & I just moved back to Southern Chester County from Portland Or. We would love the chance to enjoy local brews and local grub with a great community. The perfect welcome home!!
I love Yard’s & Lancaster Milk Stout, but would love also to explore what else this area has to offer!
My favorite is peanut butter & jelly ale from Springhouse Brewing Company in Lancaster PA. A little childhood favorite made over for grown-ups. I would love a pair of tickets for my friends. They were unable to buy tickets as the business they work for was completely flooded out due to last month’s rain.
I need these tickets because this Friday is my husband’s birthday, and I haven’t gotten him a gift yet!
His favorite local beer is Yard’s IPA. Thank you!!
My hubby & I LOVE victory brewing company, particularly hopdevil! We would love these tickets in order to spend some quality time together among other adults!
My favorite local beer would have to be Victory’s lager. I need these tickets so I can surprise my hubby with an afternoon away from the kiddos doing something he loves… BEER!
My favorite local brew is anything from Lancaster Brewing Company.
I absolutely NEED these tickets because my husband and I will be celebrating out 12th wedding anniversary. During our honeymoon, we inadvertantly ran into 3 beerfests as we travel through Spain. (totally unplanned) It would be excellent if we could bring it full circle by celebrating our anniversary at another brewfest.
My favorite local beer would be the Punkin Ale by Dogfish! You know its fall when its available at the stores. My plans that stopped me from going to the Brewfest this weekend fell through so I’m looking to be apart of the action with the rest of my friends who told me how great a time it is. I’m looking to sample other beers from around the nation and this will be a great opportunity to have a few more favorites!
I would have to say my favorite local beer is lancaster’s strawberry wheat. My sister goes to the Brewfest every year and we have never gone because we lived to far. We just moved back 9 months ago. But we had to say no this year too, because we just couldn’t spend the money with a 3 month old and 2 year old at home. But if we won tickets we could finally join her.
Victory Brewing Company. I worked there for a few years and it gave me a great appreciation for all the hard work and amazing ingredients that go into truely great beer!!
My husband and I had so much fun the last time we were there which was a couple of years ago. We were supposed to go this year but due to my place of employment flooding out from the hurricane the funds just aren’t quite there yet! I really like Red Hook, Troegs and Lancaster Brewing with their “Chocolate Covered Strawberry”. They mixed Chocolate Stout and StrawBerry Wheat together.
Our favorite local beer is VICTORY HOP DEVIL . We NEED to have these tickets because this will be the first time in 8 years that we will not be there. Time slipped by and when we went to the Brewfest website they were already sold out! Our friends have been emailing and texting asking if we are going. We are sad we are going to miss the BIG event!
I LOVE BEER!!!! My Favorite local beer is Victory’s Yakima Glory (formerly Yakima Twilight)and I NEED these tickets so that I can indulge in my favorite Victory Brew and explore what’s new in the world of microbrews.
I was introduced to microbrews just a few short years ago. I started brewing my own beer last year and I got locked out of buying tickets on the day the brewfest sold out.
My favorite local beer is Victory’s Headwaters Pale Ale because it portrays Victory’s passion for their local community and pure ingredients. I NEED these tickets because as a new fan of craft beer I NEED to experience more local microbrews and the different styles they bring. Plus, I just had a baby and haven’t had a “Guys Day Out” in months.
I would love to attend the 14 Annual Kennett Brewfest for many reasons. I recently heard all of the hoopla and did not realize that there were a certain number of tickets available and unfortunately it is sold out!!! I would love to support the community and local vendors, especially Victory Brewery which is my absolute favorite!!! This is the perfect time of year
to enjoy the fall festivities and to sample many enticing types of micro brews available. I’ve never experienced this type of festival before and would be appreciative to receive complimentary tickets.

My favorite beer is Victory’s Hop Devil. I NEED these tickets because I promised my husband that I would get him tix for his birthday but they sold out before I had the chance to purchase. He is seriously bummed! Help us, please….a marriage is at stake!
I love the 90 minute beer from dogfish, it gives you a nice bite as well as a clear conscious to do whatever comes to mind ha. This is why our group cannot go to the brewfest without the two most important ingredients. brian! and anthony! we complete the group consisting of many personalities. Brian took off work and can’t find a ticket ( he would be the relaxed one of the group that doesn’t think things through, he expected the group to get him a ticket) I however am always waiting till the last minute hoping for a miracle, which in turn brings up a sad subject and is the real reason we would love to have brian there most of all. time will tell
Fav beer Haiku:
Choose one beer from all?
Choose one son to love the most.
Fine then, it is Yards.
Limerick to persuade you:
Out in the Chadds Ford thickets
I completely forgot to get tickets
To that wonderful fest
of beer that’s the best
Please Help! I know you can fix this.
Being from right over the line in Delaware, my favorite beer is of course Dogfish Head! I seriously LOVE it, and order it pretty much anytime it’s available. Every time we are out of town and I see it, I kinda freak out and proclaim to everyone that this beer is from Delaware – totally nerdy I know. Anyhow, the weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend, and the tix were sold out by the time I went online to purchase, and would just really love to go and spend an awesome day with my friends! Literally, my favorite Fall activity. Would love to go! Thanks so much! Love a good local blog! xo
We love Dogfish Head, too! Kudos Amy, you’re our winner!
The best LOCALLY brewed beer is only a few miles away in Downingtown, Pa. The beer I speak of is Victory’s very own Hop Devil IPA. Victory’s website boasts that Hop Devil is “menacingly delicious, with the powerful, aromatic punch of whole flower American hops.” Ladies and gentlemen, this is not mere hyperbole. Victory created a fine IPA with the perfect amount of dry hops with smooth flavor.
I would love to attend the Kennett Brewfest to enjoy a fine variety of IPA microbrews. However, the main reason I would love get these tickets is to avoid my wife’s wrath for not securing tickets before they sold out. Help me!
